Recently I went through the process of revisiting self-confidence and what it means to me and I wanted to share this very valuable revisitation of the subject from a perspective that is different to what I have ever visited it before.
I believe my #1 responsibility as a coach to Musicians (which I’m not going to sugar coat, you guys are a TOUGH crowd some days, but I love being challenged so…I”m not going anywhere!)
In the Music Industry we are so creative and wonderful and crazy and off the cuff and not regular, you know which I LOVE by the way. I never felt like I fit into regular society very well, maybe you feel the same. But we are also TOUGH, we live out loud but we emote in really weird ways and some of us are jaded by the rejection, hurt, and what we perceive as a failure in this industry.
And back to my point, I see my #1 responsibility as being someone in the industry who can give a voice to subjects in a different way than ever before. I see my job to present topics that you can use for CHANGE in a way that you may NEVER have heard them before because that’s what I believe causes radical life change. And by radical I mean, transformative, things that you can break wide open in your beliefs, change and use at stepping stones to success. Absolutely 100% there is no one that can’t change their thoughts, beliefs, actions, and results.
Recently I asked myself how my own self-confidence was going?
I was surprised to learn by revisiting it that I needed to continue working on it. A few extra pounds may have actually triggered me to go back to a place where I wasn’t 100% on board with my own self-belief, and self-love.
This was a great reminder that if we can revisit any topic at any time and feel good about the outcome we are on the right track.
So I redefined what self-confidence meant to me, and what I found was something I could share with everyone. And so this may be the first time you’ve heard self-confidence defined in this way or it may not be, if it’s not this may be the day you decide to take it board and run with it.
If you are having self-doubt issues, self-doubt is the opposite of self-confidence then stay tuned.
The Oxford Dictionary defines Self-Confidence as: A feeling of trust in one’s abilities, qualities, and judgement. Hmmmm….okay what the hell does that mean?
I this podcast I redefine Self-confidence and challenge you to get out of your comfort zone in order to grow your self-confidence further.
Enjoy!
